What is our mission?

To be a community based badminton club which provides an excellent badminton experience for league standard adult players and junior players of all abilities

  • To provide recreational and competitive playing opportunities to adults with the potential and desire to play a good league standard
  • To provide recreational playing opportunities to children of all abilities, while enabling talented individuals to be put forward to county level
  • To provide a safe, friendly and equitable environment where members can improve their skills and reach their full potential
  • To provide an excellent badminton experience where members can play competitively to the club standard in a system that meets everybody’s needs (e.g. streaming)
  • To provide the best possible environment for our players to reach their maximum playing potential through excellence in coaching and support

Committed: committee to work for the benefit of their members which encourages members to feel they have a long-term relationship with the club - in return all members invest time and effort to support the development of the club

Inclusive: where all members are welcomed and supported to be involved in all aspects of the club and the decision making process, whereever possible.

Friendly: members are encouraged to cultivate a friendly and supportive culture based on being kind and compassionate to others and there needs 

Supportive: the club should be a place where members are supported to achieve their ambitions whether this be in terms of taking on administrative roles, achieving coaching qualifications or developing their badminton skills

Ambitious: the club should aspire to the highest standards in all it does underpinned by a strong desire and determination to succeed.

Enterprising: the club, committee and its members should be encouraged to innovate and take risks in order drive the club forward

Transparent: the business of the club should be conducted openly; with any articles of association, policies and procedures published; and with members given a vote on important policy changes and at least annually at the AGM
